The Compton Police Corruption Report and the Rampart Scandal
Operation Big Spender was happening in the Sheriff’s, the Rampart Scandal was happening at LAPD, and Compton sat right in the middle. There were way too many police officers dipping their beaks in the drug trade and so much of it flowed through the music industry.
There were almost 50 board of rights hearing inside of LAPD and every time Death Row Records was mentioned in testimony the hearings were shut down and the jury was cleared out. What was so explosive about the union between Death Row Records and the LAPD? We can see from the attached Rampart documents that a lid was put on the investigations. If you have documents that will shed light on this please send them to me.
We get some insights from people in Compton who said that from the time Suge Knight went to prison (not jail) that there was no difference between Death Row Records and the Compton Police Department. They all acted as one entity. Reggie Wright Jr. was at the helm.
Keefe D had Reggie in his pay/owe book as detailed in the Compton Police Corruption Report. Is it any wonder that Keefe-D is paraded out to derail any investigation into the Tupac murder?
This is all a cozy family to cover for the corrupt cops that perpetrated the crimes and like any gang the vow of silence keeps us from the truth as corrupt cops cover for other corrupt cops.
Russell Poole felt that corruption put the lives of good honest officers at risk. He told me about two officers that were killed in the line of duty because corrupt cops had previously robbed drug dealers of their drugs and money. When the next officer came into the neighborhood he was ambushed. Two senseless deaths because of the corruption, because people sworn to protect the public interests had violated their oaths of office.
Russell investigated over 500 homicides. I once asked him if he ever feared retribution for the murderers that he put away? He said he never did because he never lied, trumped up evidence, or even crossed a single line to achieve his convictions. He would sit with his suspects at the conclusion of an investigation and before trial and tell them that he got them fair and square and that this wasn’t personal. He would achieve an understanding with them that they now needed to face the consequences of their actions and because he came at them straight, they acknowledged that he had done his job and there would be no blowback.
I believe that most cops are good cops that resemble Russell Poole instead of the corrupt cops of Big Spender, Rampart, and Compton Police Corruption Report. I applaud all of the good cops that serve with dignity and honor. They all need to police the police in their ranks to push out those cops that are going to stray and put their lives in danger.
