Eric "Eazy E" Wright, widely known for his iconic West Coast rap tracks like "We Want Eazy" and "Eazy Duz-it," is hailed as a pioneer in the genre. His music continues to influence newer hip-hop artists, notably being sampled by Kanye West and The Game in their recent track "My Life Was Never Eazy."

Starting his musical journey in 1986 as part of NWA alongside Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, Eazy E contributed significantly to West Coast Gangster Rap while founding Ruthless Records. He signed renowned artists like J.J Fad, Sylk E Fyne, and Bone Thugs N Harmony, producing hits such as "Supersonic," "Romeo and Juliet," and "For The Love of Money."

Eazy E tragically passed away in 1995 at the age of thirty, leaving a profound legacy that influenced rappers like Ice-T, Too Short, and the contemporary icon Snoop Dogg.

In a significant acknowledgment of his impact on the community, the City of Compton honored Eazy E on November 22, 2023, during the 50th year of Hip Hop, by naming a street after him—Eazy. The emotional ceremony drew his family, including his mother Kathie Wright and children Erica, Eric, Ebbie, Derek, and Marquis, along with various notable personalities and a multitude of fans.

The tribute stirred interest among fans about the potential for Eazy E to receive a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.
